The people of Abak-5 comprising of Abak, Etim Ekpo, Ika, Ukanafun and Oruk Anam Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State, under the auspices of Abak-5 Redemption Movement, will, on Friday June 15, this year, formally receive the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission -NDDC Nsima Ekere, following his sterling performance in piloting the affairs of the NDDC and positively impacting on the people of the State and the Niger Delta region in general.
According to a release made available to Planet News and signed by the Special Adviser to the NDDC MD on Political affairs, Dr. Uwem Udoma, the event which will hold by 10am on Friday June 15 at the Government Technical College, will be chaired the former Minister of Petroleum Atuekong Don Etiebet, while the state chairman of the APC, Ini Okopido, former State chairman Dr. Amadu Atai are guests of Honor.
Consequently, the Managing Director of NDDC, Obong Nsima Ekere, isinviting the Chairman and Members of the NDDC Board, Party Chieftains, Elders, Traditional Rulers, Youths/Women Groups and Well-wishers to share in the Civic Reception.
In his reaction, the NDDC Boss expressed appreciation to the people of Abak 5 for the loving gesture while also calling on every son and daughter of Akwa Ibom State, irrespective of political affiliation and social standing to join hands with the Niger Delta Development Commission, in building the Niger Delta region for the benefit of the future generation.
He therefore assured that the NDDC will continue to work assiduously, to fulfill the mandate of transforming the Niger Delta Region, as enunciated by the President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.
