Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has been challenged to prove to the people of the state that he did not inherit an empty treasury from the past administration of former governor Godswill Akpabio.
This challenge was made by the publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress-APC, Itak Awak during a special interview on Planet Radio this morning, alleging that the PDP-led administration of Governor Emmanuel lacks fund to execute projects in the state due to the recklessness of the outgone government.
He described as untrue publications that in the last five months, the present administration has completed road projects and called on the people of the state to rise up and ask questions on how state funds are managed.
Awak accused the PDP government of insincerity to the people of the state in the last eight years and called for proper account of public funds expended from the last administration and also dismissed claims that there is a case in court between Senator Akpan Udoedehe and Umana Umana over the ticket of the party in the last gubernatorial election.
The party’s publicity secretary called on party faithful to remain steadfast and prepare to support the candidacy of Umana Umana in the upcoming re-run in the state.
