Governor Udom Emmanuel has promised that the state government will provide an artificial turf in Uyo for the benefit of Akwa United as they prepare to play in the continent.
The governor who spoke to the media upon arrival at the Ibom International Airport from Lagos said this was necessary as he felt the team could not play their normal free flowing game on the artificial turf of the Agege Stadium in the AITEO final against Niger Tornadoes of Minna.
Udom added that providing them with artificial turf would prepare them adequately to face any team on artificial pitch either on the continent or in Nigeria.
