Akwa Ibom State Government has been commended for their recent intervention in the provision of educational facilities for Government Primary school Ikot Ntuen Oku.
Headmistress of the school, Affiong Ekingson who appreciated the government for their prompt intervention in the renovation of classrooms and provision of social amenities for the students, noted that the school was an eyesore.
While applauding the government, Affiong noted that with the new development, the number of pupils was increasing and they were more than what the teachers could handle and however appealed to the government to provide seats for the classrooms, security and post more teachers to the school.
Our correspondent, Jane Uwa reports that Staff and pupils of the school were not left out as they also recounted the condition of the school before the intervention and further appealed that other needs be met so as to make teaching and learning more convenient.
It would be recalled that Government primary school Ikot Ntuen Oku with its strategic location at the heart of the state capital, Uyo was one of the schools identified with the issue of inadequate facilities and decayed infrastructures.
