Akwa Ibom State government to create 20,000 jobs with cocoa project

Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel says his administration will continue to invest in projects that will open the state to the rest of the world.

At an interaction with members of the Akwa Ibom community in Lagos, the governor said the state will in the next few years become commercial hub in Nigeria, noting that the state is ready for strategic partnership with the people to fast track development, having put in place reliable infrastructure, security, and transparent legislation in addition to its abundant resources that could be exploited for sustainable economic growth.

He particularly said the state government is targeting over 20,000 jobs for youths in the state through investment in cocoa production, seaport and entrepreneurial development.

He enjoined Akwa Ibom people to support the government in its drive to transform the state into a one stop destination for business and leisure.
