The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has disclosed the activities to mark the silver jubilee celebration of the state’s legislature.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Ime Okon, who addressed journalists at the Conference Room of the State House of Assembly said the week -long activities which will include joint sitting of members of Cross River and Akwa Ibom State legislatures will commence on Tuesday.
Ime Okon who is the Deputy Leader of the sixth Assembly said the House at 25 has been through the leadership of 11 speakers, adding that several bills and motions have over the years been passed by the House for the overall growth of the state.
The Speaker of the House, Onofiok Luke who was represented by the Deputy Speaker, Felicia Bassey, said the 25th anniversary of the state’s legislature was a milestone achievement, saying it was an opportunity to celebrate serving and past members who had contributed to the state’s advancement through lawmaking.
