AKSU inaugurates post graduate school board

The Vice-Chancellor Akwa Ibom State University, Professor Eno Ibanga has inaugurated the Institutions Board of school of post graduates studies, with the mandate to commence academic activities in 2018/2019 academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor who performed the inauguration of the board at the main campus of the University, Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin, thanked God for the milestone in the history of the University and congratulated the Board members for accepting to serve, charging them to work hard for the sustainability and growth of the school, while also hinting that Post Graduate Schools are centres of researches and publication in Universities world over.

In his acceptance speech, the Dean of the Post Graduate School, Professor Jarlath Umoh, thanked the governing council, University Management and the Senate for approving the takeoff of the school in line with Article 9 of the University Statute which has the mandate to coordinate and regulate all post graduate teaching and research in the University.

He promised to promote high quality post graduate education, facilitate best practices in post graduate teaching and learning; and requested from all Deans of faculties and Heads of Department whose programmes will commence in the first phase of the Post Graduate school, to work out modalities for full operation of the school.

The school will among other set goals, provide well-structured programmes and high quality supervision that will enable the students graduate within the time stipulated for each programme.

The highpoint of the event was the inauguration of the Dean and members of the Board of the School of Post Graduate Studies.
