All Progressives Congress tenders video evidence before Akwa Ibom State governorship election petition tribunal.

The All Progressives Congress-APC has tendered a video evidence at the ongoing Akwa Ibom State governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja to confirm that its governorship candidate, Umana Okon Umana was at his polling unit in Ward 4 at Comprehensive Secondary School, Ndiya, Nsit Ubium local council area on April 11th to cast his ballot, but could not do so due to the absence of election materials.

Another documentary evidence of Umana’s presence at his polling unit on Election Day is the election result sheet for the unit admitted in evidence at the tribunal, which shows that there was no election at Ndiya Ward 4 unit 001, as confirmed by the electoral officer for Nsit Ubium local government area, Austin Nwanna, during his oral evidence at the tribunal on September 17th 2015.

According to a release made available to Planet Radio and signed by the Director of Media and Publicity, Akwa Ibom APC Governorship Campaign Organisation, Iboro Otongaran, the clarification became necessary due to misinformation that Umana could not vote in the last election because he went to the wrong polling unit.

The release called on the members of the public to ignore such claims made by the People’s Democratic Party, describing it as a ploy to divert attention from their inability to present the incident forms in evidence at the tribunal and called on the Inspector General of Police to immediately arrest and prosecute the Akwa Ibom State Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC electoral officers, PDP officers whom they said manipulated the forms.

While challenging the PDP to show prove that Umana Okon Umana was not at his polling unit on Election Day, the APC called on Nigerians to watch the video evidence on, showing their governorship candidate at his polling unit.
