The All Progressives Congress – APC, says the reinstatement of former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina, into the Federal Civil Service was an embarrassment to the Federal Government.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, who stated this while speaking with journalists in Abuja said that the development was unacceptable noting that the APC was shocked at what happened, but are delighted that President Muhammadu Buhari has taken decisive punitive action against those that are involved.
Maina was dismissed from the Federal Civil Service for abandoning his duty post and evading arrest for his involvement in the mismanagement of about 2 billion Naira pension fund.
The APC publicity secretary also debunked insinuations that the president was shielding the suspended Secretary to Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ayo Oke, over corruption investigation.
He expressed confidence that the president would do what was necessary and right under the situations in the best interest of the nation.
