Association of the Next of Kin of late primary school teachers has appealed to the Akwa Ibom State government to pay them their entitlements.
Member of the Association led by its chairman, Pastor David Bassey where on a peaceful protest at the studios of Planet Radio to register their grievances while frowning at an announcement by the government in a recent publication that members have been paid.
A visibly angry member of the Association, Pastor Aniekan Thompson accused government of spending money on celebrations that could have been used to better honour teachers who had served the state meritoriously.
Another member of the group, Christiana Okonkon who also called on government to pay attention to their plight, highlighted some of the challenges they have had to face as a result.
The Association had earlier visited the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the State House of Assembly where they were addressed by the State Chairman of the board and chairman, House committee on education, Onofiok Luke.
