The #BringBackOurGirls group has commended the federal government for the launch of an intervention programme for the victims of Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.
Speaking during the group’s normal sit-out yesterday, one of its members, Abubakar Yusuf commended the Office of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo for leading the conference on intervention programme adding that it was a clear sign that the government still remembers and cares for what happens to the victims of insurgency.
The group expressed hope that the intervention programme would lead to many good things for the victims of insurgency, including the proper use of fund appropriated to them through the Victims Support Fund and other agencies of government.
Recalled the Vice President Osinbajo had declared open the intervention programme, aimed at helping the victims of Boko Haram insurgency in the region where he stated that one of the goals of the initiative was to strengthen the capacity of existing Civil Society Organisations especially in the North-East region, and to aid the development of others.
