British singer, Sam Smith achieves the longest unbroken run ever for a debut album

British singer, Sam Smith, has notched up a record-breaking 67th consecutive week in the Official Albums Chart Top 10 – the longest unbroken run ever for a debut album.

The pop singer’s debut album “In the Lonely Hour” has stayed among the top 10 since its release in May 2014.

Emeli Sande’s “Our Version Of Events” held the previous record which marked 66 weeks in the top 10, in May 2013.

Before that, 49 years earlier, The Beatles’s “Please, Please Me” held the record for 62 consecutive weeks.
