The College of Education, Afaha Nsit Alumni Association has commended the authorities of the institution for the move to affiliate the college with University of Uyo for the purposes of awarding degrees in designated programmes.
This was stated by the president of the group, Edet Okpo during the ground-breaking ceremony of Doctor Patrick Joseph Uko College of Education Afaha Nsit Rally Centre in the school premises.
Okpo said the affiliation of the college with the University of Uyo will further add value to the quality of manpower training for the overall development of the institution.
He passed a vote of confidence on the Provost, Doctor Patrick Uko which the rally centre is named after, adding that the centre will be constructed to meet modern demands with state of the art facility that will serve several purposes including conferences, seminars and lectures in line with the developmental strides of the school administration.
Responding after the ground-breaking ceremony, the Provost of the college, Doctor Patrick Uko thanked the College alumni for their support to the institution over the years and promised to take advantage of the rally centre named after him for the development of manpower.
Our correspondent, Bassey Ibiatisuho reports that all executive members of the College of Education, Afaha Nsit Alumni Association witnessed the ground-breaking ceremony as well as management staff of the college.
