Commissioner of police Akwa Ibom state, Zubairu Muazu, reaffirms force determination to fight crime

The Commissioner of police Akwa Ibom state Police command-CP, Zubairu Muazu, has reaffirmed the determination of the command, to sustain the tempo in crime fighting and protection of lives and property in the state, while also assuring the people of the police readiness, to ensure a safe and peaceful environment, for the conduct of the December 2 local government elections in the state.
Speaking during his monthly press briefing held at the force headquarters Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, muaza who stated that their efforts in crime bursting has been intensified, through community policing drive, intensive stop and search, and their operation purge code, launched at Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo, added that the operation has yielded tremendous results.

While announcing that the command has arrested the notorious gang, responsible for the series for bank related robberies in the state, Muazu thanked the government and people of Akwa Ibom, for their support to the Nigeria police, and indeed other security agencies, towards reducing crime to the barest minimum.

He paraded some of the suspects arrested for various crimes ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, child stealing and cultism.
Our correspondent Jane Uwa, who spoke with one of the suspects, arrested for robbing bank customers of huge sums, redrawn from the bank, reports that the suspect had pleaded guilty to the offense, while stating that he gets his information by going to banks, in a disguise of depositing money, in order to monitor customer’s tellers to know the amount of money they intend redrawing.
