The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service –NIS, Muhammad Babandede has given approval for commencement of building of state command headquarters for the Akwa Ibom State Command of the service.
The State controller of the NIS, Livingstone Amadi who disclosed this to PLANET NEWS in an exclusive interaction in Uyo, said that land has been acquired for the purpose on the directive of the CGIS.
He noted that when the project is completed, the state command of the Service currently harbored within the federal secretariat along Abak Road will be relocated to the new independent location.
On the recent elevation of about fourteen officers of the state command through conversion and upgrade, the state controller of immigration told our correspondent, Anthony Esin that the development was in line with the policy of the national headquarters to boost morale of officers and men of the service.
