Ex-International Segun Odegbami joins race to replace Sepp Blatter as FIFA President.

Ex-International Segun Odegbami joined the race to replace Sepp Blatter as the President of the World Football Governing Body-FIFA.

In a statement yesterday by the head of the Campaign Team, Ade Adeagbo,  Odegbami popularly known as the Mathematical said the current crisis in FIFA is the worst in the organizations 111 years of existence, hence the need for a new era of leadership that can restore the dignity of the noble sport.

The former Eagles Captain and winner of the1980 African Cup of Nations in the statement also said that he has informed the Nigeria Football Federation of his intention, as required by the Electoral guidelines and FIFA Statues as well as the Federal Government to seek their support.

SegunOdegbami scored 23 goals in 46 matches during his playing days for Nigeria. On retirement, he has served as an administrator, educator, writer, media personality and as Sports Ambassador of Nigeria. He holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree(Sports) from Bradley University, Illinois, USA.
