The Akwa Ibom state government has declared open a 2-Day Federal and States Security Administrators Meeting – FSSAM where electorates have been engaged on issues discouraging vote buying and security threats in buildup to 2019 elections and beyond.
Speaking at the meeting holding at EEMJM Hotels, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel, represented by secretary to the state government, Emmanuel Ekuwem, while opening the event, said the security meeting was significant at this time, while reiterating the state government’s commitment to the issue of sustained security in the state.
Earlier, the chairman, FSSAM, Dr Amina Shamaki, in her address, spoke on security issues in buildup to the 2019 elections while discouraging votebuying, as well as proffering solutions to end farmer/herder clashes as the dry season and ember months set in.
Also present at the event were service commanders and representatives of service commanders, permanent secretaries of states of the federation, delegates, amongst others.
