The Akwa Ibom state Federal Road Safety Corps – FRSC has encouraged passengers in commercial vehicles to cultivate the habit of observing their drivers’ actions to be sure they are stable in their driving, and in cases they are not, caution them reasonably without getting into a fight, or call the numbers of the safety managers inscribed in the vehicles, for official complaints.
The Akwa Ibom state Sector Commander, FRSC, Sunday Oghenekaro, stated this in his office where he hinted on the need for passengers to speak out when their lives are threatened by reckless driving.
According to Oghenekaro, just like drivers, pedestrians are forbidden from drinking and using the sidewalks, as it has the selfsame effects it has on drivers on pedestrians
The sector commander further cautioned against ignoring the use of pedestrian footbridges, and warned that the government erected the bridges, not because it had money to waste, but because of its necessity. He therefore encouraged all to cultivate the habit of using the pedestrian footbridges at all strategic points they are erected in the state capital, in order to maximally regulate avoidable hazards.
