The Federal Government, through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency -NPHCDA has debunked allegations that soldiers were forcefully vaccinating children in the South-east.
The agency’s Director for Disease Control and Immunization, Dr. Dorothy Nwodo described the allegation as “false, malicious, unpatriotic and misleading.”
While saying the exercise was Army’s corporate social responsibility to help wherever they are, she said they do not force anybody to be vaccinated.
The Army had said it was bound to contribute to the wellbeing of residents in regions where its formations were sited, and that Operation Python Dance in the South-east is no different.
The concern comes as a measles vaccination campaign is set to begin late this month, starting with the North-east.
