The people of Eket local government and the academic world have been thrown into deep mourning following the demise of a Professor of Biochemistry and former Chairman of Committee of Deans of the University of Ado Ekiti, Professor Sunday Itauma Ette who died at the age of 88.
Professor Ette who lectured at the University of Uyo until his death, was a member of the American Chemical Society, Nutrition Society of Nigeria and the Biochemistry Society of Nigeria and taught briefly at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama before attending the Atlanta University in Georgia from where he graduated with M.Sc. in Chemistry in 1965 and returned to Nigeria in 1966.
According to a statement by the son of the deceased, Itauma Sunday Ette, the remains of the late former Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine University of Ibadan will be laid to rest tomorrow Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at his country home at Federal Housing Mkpok-Eket after a funeral service to be held at the Government Primary School, Mkpok in Eket local government area by 10am.
He is survived by two children Edu and Itauma as well several other relations including his brother in-law, Right Honorable Chief Nduese Essien.
