Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has been declared the winner of the People’s Democratic Party-PDP’s Governorship primary election held in the state.
Speaking shortly after the election at the Uyo Township Stadium, Governor Emmanuel thanked the people for the peaceful conduct of the election and further assured them of his commitment to take the state to newer pedestals of people-oriented development.
The Governor who was also the sole candidate of the party expressed optimism that the victory recorded by the PDP in the primary election will be repeated during the 2019 general elections.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of the PDP Governorship primary election for the state and the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose had announced Governor Emmanuel as the winner for pulling a total of 3,807 Valid votes out of the 3817 votes cast by the delegates of the election.
