Greek parliament approves bailout deal.

Greece’s parliament has backed draft terms for a third bailout in five years after talks lasted through the night.

The proposed deal involves tax rises and spending cuts in return for a bailout of about $95billion dollars with the terms of the bailout to be discussed by eurozone finance ministers later today.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras also survived a significant rebellion within his own Syriza party.

There were 222 votes for the deal, 64 against and 11 abstentions the biggest rebellion within Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ government so far who also survived a significant rebellion within his own Syriza party.

Reports in Greece said he will ask for a confidence vote before parliament next week as Greece faces an urgent deadline on the 20th of August, when it must repay about €3.2billion euros to the European Central Bank.
