Former U.S first Lady and Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton says President Donald Trump’s threat to pull out of the Iran nuclear accord is “dangerous,” and suggests her former campaign opponent is undermining the validity of the United States’ promises to other nations.
Hillary said Trump’s insistence on decertifying the deal, even though evidence has pointed to Iranian compliance, “makes the country look foolish and small and plays right into Iranian hands, adding that it sends a message across the globe that America’s word is not good.”
While emphasizing need for negotiation and understanding, Clinton, who was Secretary of State for President Barack Obama, said she began negotiations on the deal, saying Trump’s decision had countered the previous efforts made.
President Trump had accused Iran of violating the landmark 2015 accord, blaming the Iranians for a litany of sinister behaviour and hitting their main military wing with anti-terror penalties.
