Home-based Super Eagles departs Nigeria ahead of 2016 CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso

Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles will depart the Country for Burkina Faso on Thursday for a return leg of the 2016 CHAN qualifier against the Etalons.

A squad of 18 players from the 23 in the training camp will be named for the trip as coach Sunday Oliseh could stick with the team that played in Port Harcourt.

Nigeria takes a 2-0 lead into the return leg to Ouagadougou and the overall winner of this fixture will qualify for next year’s CHAN in Rwanda.

Goalkeepers Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Femi Thomas, defenders Austin Oboroakpo, Chima Akas, , midfielders Bature Yaro, Ifeanyi Matthew as well as Strikers Gbolahan Salami, Chisom Chikatara and Ezekiel Bassey have all been penciled down for the trip.

Meanwhile, Nigeria has been drawn against Swaziland in the second round of African qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and will play the 1st leg away in the 1st week of November.
