Olympic and world 5,000metres and 10,000metres champion, Mo Farah will defend his Great North Run title next month and attempt to become only the second Briton to win the elite men’s race for a second time after beating Kenya’s Mike Kigen to win last year’s race.
2014 London Marathon runner-up Stanley Biwott of Kenya will also run the race, on Tyneside, on 13 September.
Before that, Farah will defend his titles at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing from 22nd August.
