Nasarawa United ends Kano Pillars 12 years unbeaten home record

Nasarawa United yesterday ended Kano Pillars 12 years unbeaten run in Kano with a 2-1 in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The defending Championship have never lost at home in 202 games since losing to Julius Berger in  2004, but were humbled by visiting Nasarawa United who went on a 2-0 lead before Rabiu Ali pulled one back for the home side to finish 2-1.

In other results, Akwa United played out a 2-2 draw against Giwa FC at the Nest of Champions as 10 men- Dolphins shared the spoils of a 1-1 draw with Rangers in Enugu.

Elsewhere, Gbolahan Salami scored a first half penalty as Warri Wolves claimed a 1-0 win over visiting Wikki Tourists of Bauchi  and Chisom Chikatara’s penalty gave Abia Warriors all points at stake as they completed the double against oriental rivals, Heartland FC I n Umuhia.

Meanwhile, Sunshine Stars thrashed El-Kanemi Warriors 5-0 and are currently at the top of the table until Enyimba plays Taraba FC today in Aba.
