Nigeria Football Federation calls for calm ahead of Nigeria/Congo friendly match today

As Nigeria gets set to play DR Congo in an international friendly match today in Vise- Belgium, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has called for calm amidst the tension involving Coach Sunday Oliseh and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.

A row ensued after Oliseh ordered Vincent out of camp for failing to meet deadline until the NFF waded into the matter and reverted the Coach’s decision for Enyeama to remain in camp with the squad.

However, the NFF boss, while addressing the press today, maintained that peace has returned to the squad as the team is ready to face the Leopards of DR Congo who won the Nations Cup in 1968 and 1974 and currently ranked 60th in the world.

The match is one of the two arranged by the NFF to prepare the Eagles for their upcoming 2018 World Cup and the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Coach Sunday Oliseh has called up former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu, Kingsley Madu and Wilfred Ndidi for the friendlies as replacements for the home based players who could not make camp due to Visa delay.

But Chima Akas and Austin Obaroakpo alongside goalkeeper trainer, Alloy Agu eventually obtained Visas to join up with the squad in Belgium.

The match comes up this evening by 7pm Nigerian time.
