Nigeria has been qualified for the quarter-finals of the Afrobasket Championship in Tunisia after overwhelming Mozambique 83-47 yesterday in the round of 16.
D’Tigers will now file out today against Gabon in the last eight, following their upset against Cape Verde for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
In other games, Egypt became the 1st team to score over 100 points in their mauling of Zimbabwe 102-62 to advance to the next stage where they will meet Angola, who narrowly defeated Central African Republic 62-61 to stave off a major upset
Host nation Tunisia secured their quarter-finals berth with a dramatic 69-68 overtime victory against Morocco and will today meet Mali who qualified for the first time in six years courtesy of a 76-57 success at the expense of Ivory Coast.
The tournament now in the knockout rounds is the continental qualifier to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
