The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation has announced that Segun Toriola and Olufunke Oshonaike will lead Nigeria nine-man team to the All Africa Games in Brazaville, Congo, as both players make their seventh appearance since their debut at Cairo 1991.
Toriola, a six-time Olympian will be joined in the men’s team by 2014 ITTF Star Player, Aruna Quadri, Seun Ajetunmobi, as well as Bode Abiodun and Ojo Onaolapo who making their debut appearances.
Oshonaike will spearhead the female team which include African Games women’s singles defending champion, Edem Offiong, Cecilia Otu-Akpan and Rasheedat Ogundele.
According to NTTF, the nine-man team was selected based on current ranking coupled with series of trails organised in Lagos in the last three weeks.
Meanwhile, to strengthen its technical crew for the Games, the federation has engaged the services of former German national coach, Martin Adomeit, as its technical adviser.
