Nigerian Army seeks more cooperation to overcome Nigeria’s security challenges

The Nigerian Army says Nigeria needs the participation and cooperation of stakeholders to overcome the challenge of the Boko Haram sect, and other security problems.

Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, said a united action was important and should be strengthened to create an environment devoid of insecurity.

The defence boss, who stated this at the Passing-Out Parade of Cadet Officers of the Department of State Services Academy held in Lagos State, noted that the Department of State Services was one of the stakeholders in the fight against terrorism.

The Director General, Department of State Services, Lawal Daura, while admonishing the officers, said the process of entering the DSS would now be strictly based on merit to ensure that misfits did not find their way into the service.

No fewer than 385 cadet officers who were said to have been in training since December 2014, graduated from the DSS Academy.
