Nigeria’s national Under-20 team will leave Lagos for Lome, Togo today for 2018 Under 20 West African Football Union, WAFU, Cup.
The team led by coach Paul Aigbogun at the weekend, defeated 2018 Aiteo Cup finalists Kano Pillars 3-1 in a friendly in Abuja.
Their opening match will be on Sunday against Benin Republic.
Arch-rivals Ghana and Niger are also in Group B.
Participating teams will use the sub-regional tournament to prepare for the Under 20 AFCON in Niger in February, which will produce four teams for the 2019 FIFA Under 20 World Cup.
