Night traders at Itam market lament power cut, appeal to Akwa Ibom state government

Night traders at Itam market have lamented lack of street lights in the area, while calling on the Akwa Ibom State government to help fix the lights in order to keep the night market running and to prevent losses and also chase away miscreants.

Speaking with Planet News, the traders narrated the challenges they encounter as a result of the continued lack of street lights in the area.

They therefore called on the government of Governor Udom Emmanuel to come to their aid and help give a lasting solution to the problem.

Our correspondent Mary Obisung reports that according to the traders, if their desires are met, their joy will know no bounds as the non-availability of the street lights has brought about declining sales especially at nights.
