Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps-NSCDC, has said that it would deploy a total of 11, 000 personnel and 30 sniffer dogs for the conduct of the Anambra State governorship election slated for November 18, this year.
Also, four drones would be deployed, including ambulances and medical teams as well as 115 vehicles, 15 of which would be deployed to the riverine areas of the state.
The Anambra State Commandant of the Corps, John Ahwen who disclosed this to newsmen in Awka, the Anambra state capital, explained that the move was to ensure total security of lives and properties during the exercise.
Ahwen said the officials to be deployed to the state would be moved from seven states namely Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi, Rivers, Edo, Delta and Imo.
According to Ahwen, the Deputy Commandant-General in charge of Operations, Hillary Madu, would be the ground commander and would be assisted by two Assistant Commandants-General.
The NSCDC boss enjoined the electorate to come out en-masse to participate in the election without any fear of molestation.
