Planet Radio 101.1FM honoured with Corporate Community Service award of the year

Planet Radio 101.1FM has been honored with a corporate community service award for its pioneering role and enduring contributions to the development of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria as the first indigenous private radio station in the State.

Receiving the award during the 19th Obong Sampson Udo Etuk Lecture, Dinner and excellence awards ceremony of the Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, the chairman and CEO of Planet radio Tony Afia dedicated the award to Planet radio and other indigenous private businesses operating in the state for their efforts in the development and capacity building of the people.

Afia appreciated the Mboho for the honor bestowed on Planet Radio and commended the Planet FM team for their efforts and commitment to work.

Responding on behalf of other recipients of the award, the immediate past governor of the state and the senate minority leader senator Godswill Akpabio who received an award for his outstanding leadership role thanked Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio for recognizing the recipients for the honour.

Our correspondent Jane Uwa reports that other recipients of the Award were Senator Bassey Albert for his patriotism, former chief judge of the state, Idongesit Ntem Isua for her professionalism in law, Apostle John Okoriko for his professionalism in Christian religion, Elder Ubong Obot for successful entrepreneurship, Ufot Ekong for his academic distinction and Doctor Emmanuel Ekot for Community service and educational advancement.
