President Goodluck Jonathan has submitted the reports of the 2014 National Conference to the national assembly for consideration and legislative actions.
President Jonathan in a letter entitled, ‘Approval for the implementation of the recommendations and resolutions of the National Conference 2014,’ and addressed to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, said the report had been considered and approved at a Federal Executive Council meeting on March18, 2015.
He explained that the forwarding of the National Conference Report to the National Assembly was sequel to a resolution to that effect at the Federal Executive Council level on March 18 when the report was considered and approved.
The conference which was held last year, had delegations from the six geo-political zones of the oil-rich nation, and its report was submitted to the President on August 21st by the Committee Chairman, Justice Idris Kutigi.
The National Conference Committee was inaugurated on March 17, 2014 by President Jonathan and the committee was given a three-month mandate which was later extended by another two months for the committee to round off the assignment.
