President Muhammadu Buhari will host an Extraordinary Summit of the Economic Community of West African States Authority of Heads of State and Government today in Abuja.
The information is contained in a statement issued by the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu and made available to journalists.
Shehu said the main item on the agenda of the summit would be the current political situation in Burkina Faso.
It could be recalled that President Buhari condemned the coup d’etat in Burkina Faso and called for immediate restoration of civil transitional authority.
He urged the Defence and Security Forces of Burkina Faso to keep faith with the agreed transitional programme for the return of the country to democratic rule after elections, which were due to be held in the country on October 11.
