Senate adjourns ministerial screening till Wednesday

Adebayo Shittu and Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim were screened today for confirmation as minister. The third nominee listed on the order paper Claudius Omoleye Daramola wasn’t screened. No explanation was given yet by the senate as at the time of filing this report.

The senate on Tuesday adjourned sitting till tomorrow, Wednesday after ministerial hearing for only two nominees.

Earlier, the senate dropped former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi and four other nominees after their names were listed in the order paper for screening on Tuesday.

Chairman of the senate ad-hoc committee on information Senator Dino Melaye had explained that the reduction of the number of nominees screened in a day to three or four was to have a thorough screening exercise.
