The senate has commenced plenary to continue screening of the ministerial nominees.
Two nominees; Adebayo Shittu from Ondo state and Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim from Yobe state were screened on Tuesday before the senate adjourned plenary.
Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, whose screening has been pending since last week following a petition filed against him, is also expected to be screened today alongside the remaining nominees contained in the second list sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Chairman, Senate committee on media and publicity, Dino Melaye said the senate’s decision to reduce the number of nominees it screens per day from eight, to about three or four, was to accommodate the wishes of Nigerians that the exercise be more thorough.
The senate has so far screened a total of 20 of nominees, but has confirmed only 18.
