Senate suspends Ministerial Screening till Thursday

The Senate has suspended its plenary till Thursday, after it screened two ministerial nominees yesterday.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Senate had adjourned plenary till today to continue the Screening of the Ministerial nominees after screened two ministerial nominees from Oyo and Yobe States –Adebayo Shittu and Khadija Abba Ibrahim.

Hours after the plenary of Tuesday had ended, the Acting Clerk of the Senate, Nelson Oyewo, told reporters that the Senate had decided to reconvene on Thursday, October 22nd, cancelling the earlier date of Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Code Conduct Tribunal Danladi Umar has adjourned trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki to the 5th and 6th of November in wait of the appeal court judgment where Saraki challenged the jurisdiction of the Tribunal to tried him on the false declaration of asset adding that the outcome of the Appeal Court judgment would determine whether or not the case will proceed.
