Skepta receives AIM Independent Music Award

Nigerian-born British rapper, Joseph Adenuga, better known as Skepta will be taking home the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at this year’s AIM Independent Music Awards.

It’s been a big year for the Tottenham MC, who has collaborated with Wizkid, Drake and Earl Sweatshirt, and performed at the BRIT Awards with Kanye West.

In 2014, the songwriter and producer released the song “That’s Not Me” off the forthcoming album “Konnichiwa”.

AIM Awards judge MistaJam, said Skepta has been a pioneer of the Grime sound since its birth in the UK, adding it feels right to award the rapper for his immense contribution so far to British Music.
