The delegation of Under-20 Women National Team of South Africa, Basetsana, yesterday arrived the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja ahead of Saturday’s 2016 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against the Falconets of Nigeria.
Led by Ndlelo and Head Coach Elizabeth Migchelsenthe South African delegation had officials and 20 Basetsana players, for the match, which is the first leg of the African final qualifying round,
Falconets, whipped Liberia 14-1 on aggregate in the first round, before routing Democratic Republic of Congo 4-1 in the last round to now face their counterparts from South Africa who edged hard –fighting Zambians 3-2 to progress to this fixture which will kick off by 3pm at the National Stadium, Abuja
Meanwhile, in another qualifying fixture, Ghana’s Black Princesses will clash with Ethiopia’s Under-20 girls in Addis Ababa on Sunday, with the winners from both fixtures qualifying for the 2016 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.
The Falconets of Nigeria have played in every edition of the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup since it was launched in Canada in 2002.
