Super Eagles Striker Emmanuel Emenike retires from international football

Super Eagles Striker Emmanuel Emenike has announced his retirement from the National team after five years.

The 28-year-old, who took to social media to make the revelation, becomes the second player after ex-captain and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, to leave the Senior National team.

In a statement, the Fernabache forward currently on loan at Al Ain, said that he no longer has a career with the senior team, as he has put a full stop to national team career for the sake of National peace.

Emmanuel Emenike career with the National team saw him play in one World Cup and a Nations Cup where his four goals won him the top scorer’s award and the AFCON trophy for the third time after a 19 year drought.
