The family of late Chief Bassey Nkanang of Ikot Eko Ibon of Onna Local Government Area has announced the demise of their son, Chief Elder Charles Bassey Nkanang.
According to a release by the family, Late chief Charles Nkanang will be laid to rest on Friday 13thNovember, 2015 at his home town in Ikot Eko Ibon in Onna Local Government Area. Burial is to be conducted by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dominion Parish Uyo.
The deceased, who was popularly known by his business name, Bob-Charlie was active in the politics of the second republic and was an active player in the Cross River State Chapter of National Party of Nigeria-NPN which was the ruling party at the time.
Late Nkanang was also a leading name in the furniture industry before switching over to petroleum business where he operated retail outlet under Texaco Nigeria Limited.
He is survived by several siblings, children and other relations including Doctor Brendan Nkanang, Group Captain Glenn Nkanang, Regina Nkanta, Ruth Orjiugo and Barrister Bassey Nkanang among others.
