Vice President, professor Yemi Osinbajo will today represent President MuhammaduBuhari at a peace mediation summit on the situation in South Sudan holding in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, LaoluAkande, the Vice President was scheduled to leave Abuja for Addis Ababa yesterday evening.
The statement said the summit will be on the platform of the Inter-Governmental Authority- IGAD Plus, which is the regional trade group of 8 African countries from the Horn of Africa, Nile Valley and the Great Lakes.
Joining IGAD for the peace effort are a number of leading African nations including Nigeria, and others like the United States, China, United Nations, European Union, among others in the international community.
The Vice President, who will join other leaders from the continent and outside including the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, HailemariamDessalegn, will return to Abuja later today.
