Akwa Ibom state Governor Udom consults Organised labour on second term ambition

Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has assured the organised labour unions in the state of his commitment to the implementation of the new national minimum wage for workers.

Governor Emmanuel who gave the assurance during his consultation visit to the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress-NLC, Trade Union Congress-TUC and United Labour Congress-ULC on his second term ambition, held at the workers solidarity center, Attan Offot, Uyo, commended the workers for the industrial harmony witnessed in the state and assured them that the new minimum wage will be implemented in the state once it is legislated.

While commending the unions for their partnership with his administration to deliver on the mandate, the Governor further solicited their support ahead of the elections and assured them of more workers friendly policies by his government.

Government House correspondent Jane Uwa reports that earlier in their various welcomes addresses, the state chairman of the NLC, Comrade Etim Ukpong, his TUC counterpart Comrade Akamba Awah and that of the ULC Comrade Bassey Essien had commended Governor Emmanuel for his worker’s friendly leadership style and assured him of their resolve to support his administration to deliver more of the dividends of democracy to the people.
