APC youths accuse Senator Akpabio of attempt to alter House of Reps primary result

Concerned All Progressives Congress-APC Youth of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency have decried an alleged attempt by former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio and others in the party to alter the result of the recently concluded APC, House of Representatives primary held on Friday, October 5 where Uwem Udoma won in a landslide victory

In a release made available to planet news and signed by the representatives of Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika, Etim Joseph, Israel Ekanem and Phillip Obonukut respectively, the youths who noted that Senator Akpabio who is not from the federal constituency lacks the locus standi to tamper with results of a properly conducted party primary, added that if such happens, they will resist any form of imposition of candidate on them against their wish.

According to them, the keenly contested APC primaries held peacefully and successfully across the 31 wards of the federal constituency with Uwem Udoma winning by a landslide in all three Local Government Areas of the federal constituency with a total of 15,665 votes to defeat Emmanuel Ekon who got 481 votes in total and Imo Imo who had 459 votes.

They stressed that the result sheets which was duly signed by the authorized Returning Officers for the primaries and the Financial Secretary of the party in the state, is a sacred and solemn mandate given to Uwem Udoma and as such should be respected and not altered, as such move may not augur well for the federal constituency.

The youths further urged all their people especially members of the APC, to remain calm as they watch events unfold, stressing that gone are the days of imposition and impunity.
