The academic staff union of polytechnics, ASUP, Akwapoly Chapter has congratulated Dr. Moses Umobong over his recent appointment as the acting Rector of the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Asurua.
The Union in a recent statement signed by its Chairman Ubon Obonguko and the general secretary, Ime Nseobot described Dr. Umobong’s appointment as well deserved considering the fact that the new rector until his elevation was one of the most senior academic staff of the akwa ibom state polytechnic.
While appreciating the State Government for recognizing academic excellence and hierarchy and by extension, restoring confidence among the teaming workforce of Akwa Poly, the Union express optimism that the new rector will continue to build the existing infrastructural and Academic strides of the past administration.
They also appreciate their former rector Dr. Barrister Israel Afia for the successes he recorded in the polytechnic during his tenure especially on the area of accreditation and upliftment of the status of some departments to HND level and wish him well in his future endeavors.
ASUP therefore calls on every member of the Akwapoly family to rally round the new Rector and also accord him the needed support to enable him take the institution to a greater height.
In 2010 TAF & ASSOCIATES LTD was awarded an FM Radio broadcasting service License by National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to own and operate a radio station on an assigned frequency channel of 101.1 MHz in Akwa Ibom State.
