France’s President Emmanuel Macron seeks closer ties with Germany

France’s President Emmanuel Macron has called for closer ties between his country and Germany, saying Europe “has the obligation not to let the world slip into chaos”.

In a speech to Germany’s parliament, Macron who is in Berlin for the country’s annual day of mourning for victims of war said Europe must be more integrated, with a joint eurozone budget.

ELSEWHERE; U.K Prime Minister Theresa May is set to renew her efforts to sell her draft Brexit withdrawal agreement – saying it will stop EU migrants “jumping the queue”.

According to report, the prime minister will also insist to business leaders that her withdrawal deal has been “agreed in full”.

Ministers from the remaining 27 EU countries are meeting in Brussels ahead of the deal.
