Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has assured the Emir of Kano and Chairman of Qua Iboe Power Plant Limited, Mohammed Sanusi II of his commitment to the establishment of Qua Iboe power plant in the state.
Speaking when he received the 14th Emir and his entourage on a courtesy call at the government house, Uyo, Governor Emmanuel thanked the Emir for choosing Akwa Ibom State for the power plant project and assured him of a safe and secured environment for the investment to thrive.
While listing other project areas where the state is seeking partnership for completion to include, the Ibom deep seaport, establishment of a logistic center in the state and coconut plantation amongst others, Governor Emmanuel further used the occasion to advise the people to have a rethink of their utterances as the election season sets in.
Government House correspondent Jane Uwa reports that earlier in his address, the Emir of Kano who said he was in the state to work out modalities for the smooth implementation of the Qua Iboe power Plant project, commended the Governor on the achievements recorded under his leadership, disclosing that the power plant when completed will add 540 megawatts of electricity to the national grid.
