Governor Udom calls for collective effort in strengthening unity in Akwa Ibom

In Akwa Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel has commended past leaders of the state for their various contributions to the growth and advancement of Akwa Ibom.

Speaking during a special interdenominational thanksgiving service to mark the 31st anniversary celebration of the State, held at the Uyo township Stadium, the Governor congratulated the people for the developmental strides recorded so far and charged them to maintain the existing bond of unity for the continuous growth of the state.

He further used the occasion to advise the people to be wary of those who intend to destroy the common heritage by unwholesome alliances to rewrite the history of the state.

Earlier in his goodwill message, the Senate president, Doctor Bukola Saraki congratulated Akwa Ibom on the occasion of its anniversary celebration and lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel’s leadership qualities. He urged the people to support the Governor so as to accomplish God’s divine mandate for Akwa Ibom.

Government House Correspondent Jane Uwa reports that the event also had in attendance the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Senator representing Uyo senatorial District, Bassey Albert, his kogi west counterpart, Dino Melaye, first military administrator of Akwa Ibom, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, Lieutenant colonel Yakubu Bako and other top government functionaries, including clergies,women and the youths in the state.
